Michael Sumner

VP Quality and Design

Michael Sumner has over 30 years of experience in Operations to include Plant and Quality Assurance Management. For the last 20 years the responsibilities were leadership positions that included VP of Quality Assurance and Operations & Plant Manager. These responsibilities included primarily high–volume high‐ rate Automotive Industry OEM global customers with products that included stampings, decorative trim components, instrument panel components and safety products that included anti‐lock brakes and air bag assemblies. The most current employers were Aerojet Corporation, Atlantic Research Corporation, ARC Automotive and Allied Signal.


Michael Sumner has been the Vice President of Quality Assurance since joining the company in August 2009. Under his guidance, ISO 9001:2008 registration was achieved in December 2009 and has been successfully maintained to current date. A solid quality system has been developed and implemented in all facets of the business. Steady improvement has been the standard and has been openly recognized by our customers. In October 2010, Michael Sumner accepted the interim responsibility as VP of Design for 16 months. Solid gains were achieved on a number of major projects. Michael Sumner also takes the lead on a number of Manufacturing Mistake Proof Technologies within the manufacturing processes.


Michael Sumner attended Valdosta State University majoring in Biology. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified in Lean Manufacturing and holds ASQ Certifications as a Quality Auditor and Quality Engineer. Michael Sumner has been published in the ASQ Book of Studies on Design of Experiments and selected to present the Case Study at the annual ASQ Symposium.
